Multichannel Marketing for Beginners

Though you may not know what multichannel marketing is, you are probably doing it. Basically, it is marketing that is done through different channels in order to reach as many people as possible. Many businesses combine traditional advertising with social media marketing while others may use social media and e-mail marketing.

Just because you are marketing in different ways doesn’t guarantee success. Here are some ways to use multichannel marketing and succeed!

Choose the right channels. There are so many choices and it can be quite confusing. Though you want to be on social media, Pinterest may be better for your audience than Instagram. Your audience may also like to read e-mails instead of getting things in the mail. Test different channels to discover your customers’ communication preferences.

Make sure that you keep your brand and message consistent. It can be hard to figure out what to do when you are on multiple channels to reach your audience. However, this marketing only works if you stay consistent throughout your marketing. Make sure that you use the same colors and logo at all times. Use similar messages so that your customers will know it is you!

Watch the results. Marketing is only as successful as the results that you get. If you are watching which ones do well for you, as well as the ones that don’t, you can use that information wisely. Why would you keep using an advertisement that isn’t catching anyone’s attention? You wouldn’t. You would stick to those that are performing well and getting a lot of attention.

The key to multichannel marketing is choosing the right channel, paired with the right message. Your business caters to certain types of people so you need to think about them when you decide to market to your customers. Are they more likely to be on one social media site over another? Do they like to read e-mails or blogs? Combine several that you know that your customers like and then monitor the results to make adjustments, so that you are not wasting your time or money!
